Scarborough Harbour (Scarborough, United Kingdom)

Scarborough’s harbour consists of the Old Harbour and the New Harbour which are linked together by three different piers; the West Pier, the East Pier and the Vincent Pier. All three piers are Grade 2 listed structures. There is a lighthouse and restaurant on Vincent Pier and all of the areas around the harbour are accessible by general public. The Old Harbour is used largely as a commercial port whilst the New Harbour has been set aside for leisure activities. The South Bay and the Castle Headland shelter both harbours. The harbour has been owned and managed by Scarborough Borough Council since the 1940’s. Access throughout the area is free and it is open daily throughout the year. The long distance walk “The Cleveland Way” passes close to the harbour.
