Tattershall Castle (Tattershall, United Kingdom)

Constructed in 1434 by the 3rd Lord Cromwell Tattershall Castle has been in the care of the National Trust since 1925. It stands on the site of an older castle of which parts of the ruins still remain. Parts of the present castle are well preserved, including the moat and the keep. After Lord Cromwell’s death in 1456 the castle was neglected and fell into a state of disrepair. It remained as such until 1911 when Lord Kedleston purchased it. He restored it over a three year period between 1911-14. Following Lord Kedleston’s death it was bequeathed to the National Trust. Admission charges are: Adult - £4.70 Child - £2.50 National Trust members - free Family tickets and group discount tickets are available.
