Constructed between 1069 and 1070 the ruins of this Norman castle are located just outside the town centre of Pickering. A footpath around the castle walls allows part of the castle to be viewed for free but to enter inside the main part of the ruins there are admission charges. Admission charges are: Adult - £3.50 Child - £1.80 Concessions - £2.80 Family ticket (2 adults + 2 children) - £8.80 Pickering Castle is owned and managed by English Heritage and entry is free to their members. It is open daily between March and end September from 10am until 6pm and until 5pm outside this period, when it is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday
