Golden Acre Park (Leeds, United Kingdom)

Golden Acre Park covers an area of 155 acres and is located 6 miles to the north west of the centre of Leeds. The area consists of woodlands and gardens, which surround a central lake. Features include rock gardens, a cottage garden and a miniature railway garden, all with a strong emphasis on horticultural displays. The park officially opened in 1932 but closed in 1938, lying derelict for the next seven years before it was acquired by Leeds City Council and turned into the current attraction. There is a café and coffee shop within the park and toilets that are fully equipped for disabled visitors. On a Sunday live bands usually perform in the park. Entry to the park is free.
