Swallow Falls (Betws-y-Coed, United Kingdom)

The Swallow Falls are a waterfall that attracts thousands of visitors every year. It can be viewed for free from the A5 trunk road but if you wish to view the falls close up then there is a turnstile and an admission charge of £1 between Easter and October. The footpath beyond the turnstile leads to a viewing platform but this path is steep and narrow and not suitable for disabled visitors. The name Swallow Falls is a corruption of a misspelling of its Welsh name which actually means Foaming Waterfall.
