Clarence Pier is an amusement park situated on Southsea seafront, beside the Hovercraft terminal that operates a service to Ryde in the Isle of Wight. The indoor attractions, Pirate Pete’s Adventure Playground and the amusement arcades are open throughout the year. Entry to the park where the rides are located is free, and tokens may be purchased for individual rides. Rides include dodgems, a balloon wheel, a carousel, toy town express and walking waters. In the high season and Easter school holidays this area is open from noon until 9pm. Other opening times are shown on the website. The newest attraction at Clarence Pier is the Double Decker Urban extreme aerial high ropes challenge course, for which tickets cost £5. Clarence Pier has a number of cafes and restaurants, from Wimpy Express and Brewers Fayre to kiosks that serve fish and chips. Pirate Pete’s Playground, open from 10am until 6pm, is particularly aimed at young children. Birthday parties can be held there, with a Wimpy meal or healthy option box plus a drink included in the price.
