    Fisherman's Cot  provides en-suite bed and breakfast accommodation, plus restaurant and pub services, directly on the picturesque banks of the River Exe in Bickleigh, North Devon. Individually designed rooms at Fisherman’s Cot feature free Wi-Fi, colour television and beverage making facilities. There is free parking and the Wi-Fi facility applies throughout the building. This  riverside garden setting, in the Devon countryside with the river flowing by, is a bonus for the visitor. Breakfast choices are served in the restaurant where, later, homemade soups and locally sourced main dishes and sweets form the basis of an extensive dining menu.  The welcoming public bar is well stocked with beers, lagers, spirits and wines. The region offers many popular attractions, including a visit to nearby Tiverton, the Great Western Canal and a voyage on a horse drawn barge!

    Delicious food.

    Breakfast is 1st class and so is the choice. Later dining, too, has a menu stuffed with homemade dishes and fresh local produce. Yummy in the extreme!

    Yes, it’s a pub so you’d reasonably expect free parking. But with the addition of en-suite rooms, the short break or holiday guest really does appreciate this facility.

    Very friendly and efficient, they certainly play their part in the enjoyment of this Devon break.

    All is not quiet on the front.

    Light sleepers are likely to suffer if located in rooms near or above the entrance to the public bar. It can get a bit noisy, even in this idyllic setting.

    No signs of a signal.

    Wi-Fi is extremely unreliable. Same can be said of the mobile phone. Better just switch off + enjoy the break!

    Eye popping bar prices.

    It is a truly beautiful setting but, sitting in the sunshine, by the river and enjoying a drink: you feel that you’ve also purchased the fishing rights. Prices are sky high.
