Living Coasts (Torquay, United Kingdom)

Wildlife park right on the coast of Torquay in Devon and only a short walk from the town centre. Served by bus, boat or by private car (parking nearby). Birds such as Sea Ducks, Fur seals, African Penguins, Tufted Puffins, Avocets, Macaroni Penguins can all be seen here in this coastal zoo in a near natural environment. There is viewing tunnel where you can see the penguins swimming above you or you can see the birds flying around freely (the whole attraction is covered in netting). Join the animals for feeding time with their keepers, watch and learn. There are lots of plants around the attraction such as Bluebell, Butcher’s Broom, Common Fig, Common Mallow and more. Underneath the attraction there is the underwater viewing area and interactive area popular with the children and grown ups alike. In the school holidays extra things are laid on such as face painting and arts activities. A cafe, a la carte restaurant and gift shop all complete the experience. Open Daily all year except Christmas day from 10 am. Closing time depends on the time of the year and should be checked before visiting. Full disabled access.
