The Green House in Bournemouth claims to be the greenest hotel in the UK and has been voted Best Wedding Venue in Southern England 2011 by the Independent newspaper as well Small Hotel of the Year 2010 in the Bournemouth Tourism Awards. It is located to the east of the town a few hundred metres from the sea. The hotel has strong environmental credentials, uses solar energy for much of its requirements. There are 32 guest rooms with hand made furniture, and carpets and linens created from sustainable materials. Rooms are graded small double, double, large double and master double. All have flat scree television, Bose sound dock, luxury bedding and premium bathrooms. The Green Room restaurant serves locally sourced seasonal food including a 6 course tasting menu and lighter options which can be served in the bar or garden. Meeting rooms for corporate events include boardroom style rooms and larger theatre-style arrangements. All rooms have natural day light and AV equipment and event organisers can assist. The hotel has a civil license for weddings and partnership ceremonies and space for indoor parties for up to 60 guests and the option for larger gatherings in a marquee.
