Harnham Water Meadows (Salisbury, United Kingdom)

Harnham Water Meadows are registered as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and an Environmentally Sensitive Area (ESA) and lie within the city of Salisbury. They are jointly owned by Salisbury Cathedral and the Harnham Water Meadows Trust who work together to protect and preserve this traditional irrigation system and its flora and fauna. The water meadows occupy an area of land that’s surrounded by two arms of the River Nadder, one of the five rivers which pass through the Salisbury area. The Town Path, which runs from Harnham to Salisbury, cuts through the meadows and offers views of both the meadows and the cathedral.
