St George's Hall (Liverpool, United Kingdom)

St George’s Hall is one of Liverpools most spectacular buildings and has only recently been renovated in time for the citys capital of culture in 2008. It was designed by Harvey Lonsdale Elmes and remains one of the finest neo-classical buildings in Europe. The interior is dominated by the exuberant 169 feet long main exhibition hall. The construction of the building commenced in 1842 and was completed and first opened in 1854.
