Old Dee Bridge (Chester, United Kingdom)

A bridge has stood on the spot of the current bridge since the year 922 but in 1280 when King Edward 1 crossed over this wooden bridge he ordered that it be replaced with a stone bridge. During the stagecoach years it was known as Chester Bridge and was an important landmark that was used for measuring distances from. During the 19th century the construction of the Grosvenor Bridge a little further downstream made the Old Dee Bridge of less importance although today it still carries traffic. It is a Grade 1 listed structure.
