Miniaturk (Istanbul, Turkey)

Miniatürk Park is located in Istanbul and it first opened its door for visitors in the spring of 2003 after 22 months of construction work. The park is an open air attraction, built on the shore of Golden Horn estuary in the ennobled former industrial area, surrounded by historic sites. The park is 60 thousand sq.m. of which 15 thousand is devoted to models, which makes it the largest mini-city in the world. In the park visitors can see 105 sites across Turkey in a scale of 1:25, and their number is steadily increasing. Here can be seen the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia church, temple or tower of Ephesus from Izmir and mini cities like Mardin. Effects of scale increases with the addition of mini cars and people on the streets of a mini city. Near each model there is an information column that tells the story of the site in several languages. Within the park there is swimming pool, parking for 500 cars, an amphitheatre and souvenir shops. Price of entrance: 5 TL., for students 3 TL, for foreigners: 10 TL (5 EUR). Working hours: Every day from 9 to 5 pm
