Belfry Tower (Bruges, Belgium)

The Belfry Tower was started in 1282-1296 and completed in 1487 with the octagonal upper stage. It is 83 metres high and the top is accessible through a steep staircase of 366 steps. The tower stands on top of the former market hall, a rectangular building measuring 44 m x 84 m. A carillon of 47 bells is located on the upper floor. The tower is a UNESCO World Heritage Site from 1999. Opening hours: from April until September every day 09:30-12:30/13:30-18:00; from October until March every day 09:30-12:30/13:30-17:00. Entry fee: 5 €; children under 13 free.
