Eurotunnel (Folkestone, United Kingdom)

The Eurotunnel terminal in Folkestone is the UK end of the Channel Tunnel which connects the UK with France. The Channel Tunnel comprises 3 separate tunnels that are all 50 km long, and is the longest undersea tunnel in the world. The terminal on the French side of the tunnel is located in Coquelles near Calais. The Channel Tunnel offers transport for the Eurostar lines which depart from London St Pancras Station and Ashford Station in Kent, cargo trains and the Eurotunnel shuttles which both depart from the Folkestone terminal. The two separate single, one way tracks run 40 metres under the sea bed and each journey takes around 35 minutes, 3 departures per hour are available for passenger cars. At the terminal you can find restaurants, snack bars and discount shops as well as toilets, baby changing facilities and an exchange bureau. Ample parking facilities are available.
