Ockenden Manor Hotel & Spa

Ockenden Manor is a three star hotel in Cuckfield, in a former Elizabethan manor house dating back to the mid 16th century. It is part of the Historic Sussex Hotels collection. All 22 rooms and suites are individually designed and retain many original or period features. Room categories are standard, superior, deluxe and feature. Suites have separate sitting areas, while the top-of-the-range Merrick Suite is on two levels. All rooms have modern facilities and communications equipment including broadband. The public rooms also have traditional décor such as log fires and a wood panelled bar. The restaurant has a Michelin star and the food can be enjoyed with a view over the South Downs National Park. Fixed price menus and a gastronomic tasting menu are offered, all incorporating fresh ingredients sourced locally. Its 9 acres of garden and parkland together with the historic building makes the hotel a picturesque spot for a wedding and it can provide full facilities including an organisation team. A spa is planned for opening in 2011.
