Brooklands was the world’s first purpose-built motor racing circuit, built in 1907, and was also the home of much of British aircraft design and construction from 1908 as well as the World’s first Flight Ticket Office in 1911. Today visitors can see the Banked Race Track and Test Hill and can visit the Motoring Village where several record breaking cars were based. An extensive collection of racing vehicles is exhibited in the Motoring area of Brooklands Museum hosts including cars and motorcycles. The Aircraft and Aviation area holds historic aircraft, with one of the World’s largest collections of Hawker, Vickers and BAC aircraft. As well as primarily those built by Vickers, to historic aircraft. Military aircraft on display include a Hurricane, Wellington and Harrier while civilian aircraft include a Vanguard, BAC1-11, VC10 and a Concorde. Additionally a number of aircraft cockpits and aviation-related vehicles are on display. Brooklands is open 10.00 to 17.00 in summer and 10.00 to 16.00 in winter. Admission costs GBP9.00 (11 Euros) for adults and GBP5.50 (6 Euros) for children. Additional charges apply for The Concorde Experience.
