The Old Forge in East Kennett, Wiltshire. We are a four star, gold award, bed and breakfast offering comfort and relaxation. The village is set in the heart of Wiltshire’s prehistoric countryside and is only 1 mile from the world heritage sites of Avebury Stone Circle, Silbury Hill and the West Kennett Long Barrow. The house is a beautifully restored former smithy which has been extensively renovated to an extremely high standard. Its light, airy and spacious and has a wonderful outlook to the River Kennet. The house was once the village blacksmiths and is believed to date back to the 16th century. Today it has been restored in a contemporary style to a very high standard, blending old and new furniture with tasteful fabrics and furnishings. The four letting rooms are large and well laid out, each with its own style and character. Breakfast is served in our large open plan kitchen and dining room, the extensive menu centres on the “full English” and features a wide choice of local and homemade produce. We also offer smoked salmon, a vegetarian option and a selection of fruit, yoghurt and croissants, we also cater for wheat and dairy intolerance
