The Rifles - Berkshire and Wiltshire - Museum (Salisbury, United Kingdom)

The museum is located within the walls of Salisbury’s Cathedral and is the regimental museum of the Royal Berkshire Regiment and the Wiltshire Regiment - two regiments which recently merged to become ‘The Rifles (Berkshire and Wiltshire) Regiment. Prior to the formation of the new regiment, the museum was known as “Redcoats in the Wardrobe”. The museum is self-funding and non-profit making and contains more than 30,000 items of military memorabilia including photos, documents, medals, clothing and armour, weapons and commemorative items. There is also a tea-room. The museum is open from February to November, from 10 am to 5 pm. In the summer months it’s open every day but outside that period, it closes on Mondays. Entrance fees are £3.50 for adults with deductions for OAPs, students and children. Family tickets cost £8 and a ‘garden-only’ ticket costs £1.50.
