Brighton Beach (Melbourne, Australia)

Indulge in the Beauty of Brighton Beach

Known as one of the most affluent areas of Melbourne, Brighton Beach is a perfect spot for a luxury getaway. It is located 11 kilometres away from Melbourne CBD and can be easily reached by train, bus or car.

The city is more than a captivating coastline, providing a truly unforgettable holiday. The heart of Brighton Beach centres around Church Street. Here, you will find sophisticated boutiques, classy eateries, and maybe a hidden bar or two. Lively from morning to night, this is one part of the city you won’t want to miss.

Nothing Beats a Romantic Walk Down Brighton Beach

Brighton Beach offers many opportunities for recreation, but a simple stroll on the sands

From the beach and nearby coastal trails, you can enjoy an unparalleled view of the Melbourne city skyline and Port Phillip Bay. If you’re into jogging or cycling, or just up for a really long walk, there is no better recommendation than the Bay Trail. Running an impressive 50 kilometres along the waterfront, it offers plenty of sightseeing opportunities. From Brighton Beach, you can follow it north to St. Kilda or south to Beaumaris. On the way, you will also spot works by local artists, which have been placed along the road.

For those seeking something new and exciting, Brighton Beach is one of the top spots for kitesurfing. Don’t worry if you’re unfamiliar with the sport – professional instructors are easy to find.

Snap a Selfie by the Brighton Bathing Boxes

Brighton Beach, Melbourne was named after the city of Brighton in England, both of which share one notable detail – colourful beach huts. Located on Dendy Street Beach, these Victorian-inspired wooden cottages have become an icon of the area. Originally serving as changing rooms in the 1800s, they are now essentially private beach cabins where owners can store personal belongings. Unfortunately, due to lack of any amenities, they’re not suitable for living. However, you might see one of the locals set up a picnic out front that will make you believe otherwise.

It’s hard to miss the colourful Brighton Bathing Boxes, especially since there are over 80 of them lined up in a row. Each features its own unique design, and some have gained world recognition. This is a popular spot for professional photographers and Instagrammers, so don’t forget to take a picture or two yourself.

Live Like a Brighton Beach Local with a Serviced Apartment

Hotel Brighton Savoy is undoubtedly one of the leading Brighton hotels, offering a luxurious boutique environment right on the Esplanade. Home to one of the best restaurants in the area, the modern property is also a popular events venue, especially with weddings.

If you’re searching for Brighton accommodation beyond a short stay, consider a serviced apartment. They’re quite popular here and provide all the comforts of home.
