Big Ben is located on the north east end of the Palace of Westminster in London. It was designed by Augustus Pugin and is 315.9 feet high (96.3 meters). It was built with bricks, limestone, and cast iron. The clocks are 180 feet (55 meters) above the ground. Big Ben is the largest free standing chiming clock in the world.
