Northern Hotel (Brechin, United Kingdom)

Going by guest comments it seems that it was the food that most impressed them during their stay at Northern. It didn't seem to matter which meal was being reviewed, the guests loved them all. The food was said to be tasty and well presented, and Baillie Restaurant a lovely environment in which to enjoy it.

It seems that the hotel has installed power showers in the bathrooms. Guests have clearly noticed, and were very impressed with the quality of the shower experience that resulted.

Again and again guests mentioned how wonderful the staff at Northern were. They were of course said to be welcoming and friendly, but guests seemed more impressed with their efficiency and ability to get things done.

A couple of motorists commented on the limited amount of off-street parking available. While parking on the street was not said to be exceptionally difficult, a spot nearby the hotel could obviously not be guaranteed.

Northern is a fairly small establishment, with many of the rooms right on top of the bar and restaurant downstairs. Of course this meant that they could get a bit noisy. Some guests complained that, especially when there were functions on, the noise from downstairs could disturb their sleep.

While guests did generally like the interior décor of the hotel, both in the rooms and public areas, they were not as impressed with the exterior, saying it was exceptionally bland and featureless.
