South Lodge

South Lodge is a five star hotel in the village of Lower Beeding near Horsham. A neo-Jacobean country house built in the 19th century it was converted into a hotel in 1985. In 2009 it won a South East Tourism Award and a "Caterer and Hotelkeeper" Hotel of the Year Award. Its accommodation comprises 89 individually designed rooms and suites divided two grades of guestrooms, three grades of junior suites and two grades of suites. The suites also include the Bothy Cottage, a detached cottage with its own garden. Guests have two restaurants to choose from, both with 3 AA rosettes: the Camellia Country Kitchen refurbished in 2010 and the Pass which features in the Which 2011 Top 50 UK Restaurants. The open plan kitchen is in the centre of the dining area so diners can see the chefs in action. Events both corporate and social can be catered for, and a full wedding package is offered, organised by a wedding co-ordinator. A concierge team is on hand to fulfil any requirements by guests. For recreation the hotel has a tennis court and croquet lawn, and 93 acres of grounds with formal and informal garden areas, lawns and ponds, including the largest single rhododendron in England.
