Located 10 miles north of Limavady, Benone Strand has a Blue Flag award and offers a beach with 7 miles of sand. There is a large area of dunes, with cliffs and mountains behind. The water is suitable for swimming and water sports such as jet skiing, kite buggying, sailing and angling. Children are catered for with a paddling pool and supervised playground. For adults there is a golf course, as well as the nature reserve in the dune area with its wild flowers, insects and shells. Further afield, attractions include Flowerfield Arts Centre, Magilligan Martello Tower and Barmouth Wildlife Reserve. Camping and caravanning are provided for at Benone, and there are hotels and guest houses at Limavady.
