The Lowry Hotel (Salford, United Kingdom)

The Lowry is a member of the Rocco Forte Collection of hotels and is Manchester's first hotel to hold the accolade of being a member of the "Leading Hotels of the World" and is the only five-star in the city. It's an ultra-modern luxury hotel which opened in 2001 and occupies a river-side plot in the Chapel Wharf development close to the river Irwell. The hotel has 165 rooms including 6 super deluxe suites and a presidential suite. All are decorated in neutral tones and offering facilities such as interactive satellite TV, internet access, two phone lines, iPod docking stations, Playstations, mini-bars and safes. All have walk-in wardrobes and many have river views. The River Bar and Restaurant offers contemporary dining in a riverside setting and has a private dining room available which seats up to 20 people. Afternoon tea is a speciality and the Lowry is happy to arrange '5-star picnics' on request. In room dining is available 24 hours per day. The hotel offers a fully equipped business centre and meeting and conference rooms. There is a spa, gym, sauna and health suite available too. Parking is available on site but is not free. The hotel has a wedding license.
