Monolithos Hotel (Monolithos, Greece)

While the hotel isn't right on the beach, it is a pretty short walk away. Most guests seemed not to mind the walk, and never felt that they were on some sot of journey every time they wanted to head to the beach.

While it is certainly nothing fancy, guests certainly appreciated having the pool and terrace available. They described it as a great place to chill out during the day, and the pool itself ideal for a late afternoon dip to cool down after a long day.

A couple of guests conceded that the hotel had minimal facilities, but claimed that the resulting lower room rates were a boon to people who simply wanted a decent place  to stay on a very expensive island.

Unfortunately, it seems Monolithos has numerous noise problems, Firstly, since it is so close to the airport guests say there is a decent amount of jet noise from planes taking off and landing. Secondly, the walls were said to have poor soundproofing, and guests could hear the sound from adjacent rooms quite distinctly.

A couple of guests mentioned that they really needed a car to make the most of their time. While there was a beach nearby, the town of Monolithos was small and didn't really have the amenities or attractions they were looking for.

Most guests were not much impressed with the Wi-Fi system. For a start, they claimed that the signal didn't reach all rooms as advertised, so it was a bit of the luck of the draw whether their particular room could pick it up. Secondly, it was described as rather slow.
