Estancia La Margarita

In 2017 the family of Carlos Girado opens the doors of his house to share his place and his family stories. La Margarita is the house where Carlos Girado lived with his family, whose name is reminiscent of his great-great-grandmother Doña Margarita Casagemas de Girado. It is located steps from the Laguna de Chascomús, land dedicated in part to agriculture and partly to sheep and cattle. The main house was a "stall" of the first establishment of the Girado. Nothing is missing from the "picture" of the room. Its landscape evokes a painting by Molina Campos: the palenque, the mill, the matera, the old dovecote turned into a metal shop, the huge front house made of brick and wooden planks, to which time gave its personality. Typically from colonial times, the rooms are located in different buildings on one floor, protected by the shade of large groves. - Guest House: The house retains its original structure, several rooms connected with doors, gallery on both sides invite you to sit and let the view be lost on the horizon. It was the home of Margarita and her family, and today recycled with a suite and two apartments with two bedrooms and a bathroom. - Country House: Another gallery dresses its facade and gives access to the living room, dining room and kitchen. It also has another accommodation room with private bathroom; a large home, multiple cozy chairs for meetings, recreation and reading; an intimate dining room from where you can access the cellar and whose protagonist is an old despensero furniture. Finally a good country kitchen, with its huge bell, open to those who like to be between pots and spoons. During the stay you can enjoy country life, horseback riding, explore the nearby roads by bike, participate in rural activities, relax in the pool, spend the afternoon in the hammock and walk along the shore of the lagoon. The center of Chascomús also deserves a visit, which is only 15 km from the town center, where the typical colonial houses and museums keep the secrets of the deeds of those first Chascomús settlement families and of course the Girados.
