Guests say the new courtyard block of rooms should be avoided, as they feel more like a travel lodge than a nice hotel. Some guests also found the hotel to be a bit dangerous to navigate as there is no exit lighting in this area of the hotel. You may wish to bring a torch with you.

Rooms in general feel a bit run down and are on the small side. Many rooms are very basic with tired furnishings. They feel a bit shabby with things like peeling wallpaper. Guests also say it's hard to control room temperature, with some rooms being quite cold while still others are very hot.

Some guests say that the bar area and bar service are not as cosy and inviting as the rest of the house. The bar has a feeling of being cold and dull. Perhaps a refurbishment would help with warmer tones and better training.
