When it’s time to face the day (or night), an Illy espresso maker at a palatable distance from your very comfortable bed will have you up and at ’em. From there, perhaps a quick refresh in your oversized rain shower with Dead Clean toiletries. And, when it’s time to kick back (and even entertain friends new and old) a designed minibar full of greatest hits, a turntable with an eclectic selection of vinyl records, and even a Gibson guitar are all at your fingertips. With its bold presence in Amsterdam’s A’DAM Toren, Sir Adam resonates with the vibrant energy of the building’s present occupants, including MassiveMusic, ID&T and Gibson. Built in 1971 to house the office of Royal Dutch Shell, it reopened in 2016 to become one of Amsterdam’s most creative and entertaining destinations. It’s just behind the city’s Central Station and overlooking the IJ-river.
