Review summary

Summarized by AI from 600+ reviews

A tranquil, traditional ryokan retreat for culture seekers.

This property offers a serene escape for travelers seeking an authentic Japanese experience. The scenic, elevated setting pairs with private and public onsens to create a deeply immersive wellness environment. The kaiseki-style dining provides a standout culinary journey, and guests should opt for the in-room dining service to enjoy these multi-course meals in complete privacy. While the historic charm defines the stay, the spacious guest rooms offer a quiet, culturally rich atmosphere for those prioritizing tradition over modern, climate-controlled luxury.

Some guests mentioned: inconsistent service, aging interiors, steep terrain.
