Alexander House Hotel & Utopia Spa

Alexander House is a four star hotel in Turners Hill, near East Grinstead. It is part of the Alexander Hotels Group and a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World collection. The building dates from the 14th century and was once the home of Shelley. Now it offers accommodation in 38 rooms divided into classic, luxury, junior suite, spa suite and master suite categories. All rooms have en-suite marble bathrooms, hairdryer, robes and slippers, TV, phone, safe, DVD player, sound system and hospitality tray. In addition some rooms feature four-poster beds and claw-footed baths. Guests have two dining options: AG’s Grill Room fuses traditional and modern cuisine in a formal setting, while the less formal Reflections has a brasserie atmosphere, and an outside terrace for summer weather. Included in the rates is use of the Utopia Spa which provides a full range of treatments together with a pool and fitness area. The hotel can also cater for corporate and social functions and offers a range of wedding packages. The hotel sits in 170 acres of gardens and parkland, which can be explored on foot or by bike. It is nevertheless less than 10 miles from Gatwick Airport.
