The Minster, National Railway Museum, Jorvik Viking Centre, Yorkshire Museum, Castle Museum, and a host of restaurants, cafes and historic pubs are all a short walk from St. Raphael, through the beautiful and historic Museum Gardens.

Clean and comfortable rooms

Most of the guests said that the rooms were well maintained and kept immaculately clean. The beds in the room were comfortable, the bedding was spotless and fresh sheets (thick duvets) were provided daily. The rooms were tastefully decorated and fresh flowers used for the decor of the rooms everyday added a nice romantic atmosphere.

Lovely breakfast

Guests simply loved the breakfast served at the guesthouse. Every morning the guests are awakened to the lovely aroma of the freshly baked homemade bread. Traditional English breakfast prepared freshly was served in the rustic dining room with a nice fireplace, adding to the lovely ambience. There was lot of choice available for guests with all varied dietary requirements. Guests said that the breakfast was delicious and wholesome.

Good location and helpful staff

The guesthouse is located just a ten-minute walk from the York city centre. All the tourist attractions are also a short walk from the guesthouse and so is the York railway station. The staff at the guesthouse was very helpful and friendly. They were always cordial and the assisted the guests promptly in all the services required.

Some guests said that rooms were a little crammed up and the shower cubicle in the en suite bathroom was also small.
