Positive Reviews

Fabulous property and grounds

Visitors to this hotel tend to be bowled over by the grand look and feel of the historic house, as well as the sweeping beauty of the surrounding grounds. The regal interiors of the main house are, wowed guests observe, entirely evocative of the Edwardian period. Reviewers are equally impressed with the guest rooms, with many identifying the huge beds and classical furnishings as highlights.

Truly outstanding service all round

Reviews show this hotel's management and staff are devoted to the concept of delivering top drawer customer service as standard. Visitors frequently observe how keen and affable staff members (including non-customer facing operatives) are, and often name high performing personnel by name in their reviews. Guests who come to the hotel for business functions or weddings are mightily impressed with the service they receive as well.

Consistently great food

The vast majority of guests who stay at this hotel (or visit for the day) say very good things about the high standards of culinary excellence maintained here. Most diners give their dishes consistently high marks, and revel at dining in the ornate surroundings of the swish Leven Restaurant. The complimentary breakfasts tend to be big vote-winners too.

Negative Reviews

No pool or spa

Given the luxury nature of this property, guests seem to be a little surprised it has neither a pool or a full-service spa.

Located in middle of nowhere.

Situated on private grounds and surrounded by woods means Crathorne Hall is an isolated property. The nearest town is a bit of a drive from the hotel, making it absolutely necessary for guests to bring their car unless they want to spend their entire holi

Upscale mentality comes with a high price tag.

This four-star accommodation was designed with luxury in mind, and that ideal is certainly reflected in the price. Crathorne Hall is not somewhere to visit for a quick holiday or if trying to stick to a tight budget.
