Positive Reviews

Extremely convenient for the theatre

If you are taking in a show at the Grand Theatre, then there is no better base than a hotel right next door The hotel bar is a favorite for pre-show drinks and has a very friendly atmosphere.

Very good value for money

The hotel is a little old, but guests have noted that it is well worth the money for accommodation so ideally located With reputable staff and more than adequate food, you’ll feel that you’ve found a bargain in this hotel.

Great service makes the difference

The staff at this hotel go above and beyond the call of duty in order to help you enjoy your stay They have lots of advice regarding not only the local area but also the theatre next door A great help for those new to the area.

Negative Reviews

You get what you pay for

If you are looking for a bargain then this hotel is for you, however, don’t expect too much in the way of luxury Everything in the room is out of date while the food is just ok If you need a place to stay for the night, then this is fine.

Not very clean

The rooms are a little shabby and not very clean although the bed is comfortable You may notice that the windows seem to be the original frames from Victorian times so they can get draughty and don’t keep the noise out very well.

Eating out is the best option

The food at the hotel is not very well regarded by guest or locals so you can expect to be eating out The breakfast is adequate but not very tasty, and while the bar is an enjoyable spot for a drink, the food is below average.
