Typically English, a little Italian.

This inn is a typical English inn, which means great food in a warm pub and comfy rooms upstairs. While you're in the pub, do try the pizza. Rave reviews comment on the thin and crispy crust with lots of toppings.

Old-world ambiance.

The historic feeling of the inn is enhance by the high ceilings and a wood-burning fire in the pub. The effect overall is of old-world ambiance and cosiness. A nice contrast, though, is the modern bathrooms.

Missing finesse.

The dining arrangement lacks the finesse which is present in the rest of the hotel experience. The food is sometimes overcooked or not freshly cooked. Many guests prefer to stay at the inn and eat elsewhere.

Oh, to be young again.

The pub seems to be a popular hangout for local youth, who frequent the place heavily. This is of concern, especially on the weekend, as the youngsters can get loud and rowdy after a few pints in the pub.

Needs tweaking.

Overall, the whole establishment could do with a bit of tweaking, from the reception to the rooms and into the dining room. Some areas smell and feel a bit musty. Looks are important too, and the peeling wallpaper doesn't add to a pleasant stay. Attention
