Positive Reviews

Convenient location

The Windermere Boutique is fairly secluded yet still manages to place you within easy reach of many area attractions Indeed, some are within walking distance of the hotel, so you can leave your car where it is and enjoy your surroundings - weather permitting!

Hot tubs are a plus

Despite a handful of negative comments about the placement of the hot tubs, most guests seemed thrilled with the luxurious addition to their rooms. Some of the hot tubs are actually outside, but adequate cover means you’ll be able to use them even if the weather isn't so great.

Friendly staff

For the most part, guests agree that you can expect a warm welcome and friendly service from the staff at the Windermere Boutique There are some exceptions, but perhaps that’s to be expected from a hotel that has so many guest reviews.

Negative Reviews

Inflexible refund policy

The Windermere Boutique has a strict 14-day cancellation policy and it appears that even if you come down with a serious illness, they refuse to budge and will charge you for the full cost of your stay It seems that they are even unwilling to change the booking date to accommodate unforeseen circumstances.

Availability of evening meal

Although guests often comment that the food is nice here, some did feel that the hour-long service from 7 30pm was a little strict and many thought the meals were overpriced too If you don’t fancy it, guests often recommend heading into Windermere or Bowness to eat.

Glorified B&B

A fair few guests describe this boutique hotel as little more than a glorified B&B It seems that the owners need to pay a little attention to the finer details of the hotel for it to fully live up to its boutique description.
