Positive Reviews

Great staff make it a more delightful stay.

The hotel and pub staff are very pleasant, and a joy to deal with. They demonstrate great customer service, and attend to each guest with an individual intention to make your stay the best it can be. Staff act as a collective family, welcoming you into th

Lovely food and pub atmosphere are a bonus.

Food is well done and well priced here, which is always a benefit when staying away from home. There's also a comfortable and friendly vibe in the pub, which lets you get a better sense of the local culture. The pub is open to the public and has its regul

Nice location when you're in town for events.

The hotel is in a convenient spot for when you're in Wigan for sports' matches and music events. It's also close enough to public transit, to get to other sites of interest in the Greater Manchester region.

Negative Reviews

Rooms and bathrooms need better cleaning.

Housekeeping is inconsistent, with noticeable dust and dirt in the rooms, and stained linens. Bathrooms could also use deeper cleaning, with signs of grime and not extensively being refreshed.

Noise makes it quite difficult to have a good rest.

Pub noise comes up to the rooms, particularly the ones in the front of the building. What heightens the annoyance is that the walls and floors are very thin, so you'll hear loud guests and staff.

Low price is still high for shabby accommodations.

Even though The Brocket Arms is budget lodging, the prices are still considered too high for what the rooms look like. Furnishings are worn and distressed, fixtures need updating or replacement, and the bathroom flooring needs attention.
