Positive Reviews

Very convenient location

The hotel is an ideal base for sightseeing as the town centre, pier, beach, amusements and of course the famous abbey (which inspired Bram Stoker to write 'Dracula') are all within easy reach Having a nice sea view at the end of the street is a welcome bonus too!

You'll never run out of tea or coffee in your room

The owners know who their clientèle are and cater to them accordingly With this in mind, you can rest assured your supplies of in-room tea, coffee, milk and sugar will never run out Ever.

Quarterdeck' restaurant affords great views

As well as proffering very generous portions of satisfying grub, 'The Quarterdeck' restaurant affords some wonderful views of the harbour and abbey beyond A really lovely spot to tuck into a fish supper!

Negative Reviews

Family rooms are on the second floor

Be warned; you're going to have to climb quite a few stairs if you book a family room Suffice to say, this can be a bit of chore, especially if your children are at that age where they cannot travel without you bringing a whole host of accoutrements along for them.

Parking can be an issue in the high season

Having only two designated parking spaces means you will more than likely have to find some on-street parking when travelling by car This can be easier said than done, especially in the high season, when spaces in West Cliff are at a premium.

No designated reception area

This hotel doesn't have a manned reception, so if you have a query and can't see the owners pottering around anywhere, you'll need to call them on their mobile.
