About The Sailors Return

The Sailors Return in Weymouth is a quay side inn offering cask ales, lagers, fine wines and ciders along with traditional pub food as well as simple bed and breakfast accommodation. Located in one of Weymouth's oldest pubs, the rooms are ranged over two floors.

There are eight recently refurbished rooms; two with harbor views and three with en suite bathrooms. All rooms have tea/coffee makers, digital TV, fresh bedding and towels. Family rooms are available.

The Sailors Return has a separate private entrance for guests staying at the B&B. Paid parking is available on request. The B&B has live music evenings and folk nights.

Breakfast and all meals are available at the B&B. Packed lunches are available on request.

The inn is located in a 17th century water front area with lovely shops and restaurants and is home to the Dorset Seafood festival in July.

Prime location

The Sailors Return is on the waterfront right on Weymouth harbourside, which is described as a prime location by guests, many of whom have said that this is their favourite part of town. The bed and breakfast place has lovely views and is ideally located for sightseeing and walking around town as well as for visiting some interesting night spots.

Lovely pub

The B&B offers good classic pub fare and a good selection in ales, wines and ciders. There are good bands playing here in the evenings, say guests. There are nice views of the harbour and bridge as well. The accommodation is described as family friendly and offering good value for money; the building itself being historic and full of character.

Charming family run place

The service is well spoken of and the staff is described as friendly and welcoming. The breakfast served is spoken of as filling and delicious by several guests.

Negative Reviews

Communal showers and toilets

The Sailors Return has communal showers and toilets for five of the eight rooms; all of which are on the first floor. So guests from the top floor have to climb down a flight of stairs to access the facilities.

Parking woes

The central location means that parking can be very right, frequently posing a problem for guests with cars. Also, parking is chargeable here.

Can get noisy

The rooms above the pub can get very noisy felt guests desiring a quiet or early night. Live music and karaoke evenings can be very noisy, said guests.
