About The Swan hotel

Housed in a historic, whitewashed building in the centre of Wadebridge, The Swan Hotel is an old-fashioned inn with a dash of contemporary comfort.

The hotel offers double and family rooms, all with ensuite bathrooms, which have baths and showers. The rooms have TVs for entertainment, and there’s tea and coffee-making facilities.

The historical features of the hotel include exposed stone walls and wooden chandeliers, creating a sense of Tudor grandeur. There’s also a pub garden for sunny days.

Well-known locally for its restaurant, The Swan Hotel serves traditional, locally-sourced food from morning until night. It also has a bar with a good selection of ales.

The Swan hotel is just a few metres from the River Camel, which has walking and cycling trails along its banks. 13 miles north, Tintagel Castle is a popular attraction.

Positive Reviews

Excellent location in the centre of Wadebridge.

You can’t get any closer to the centre of Wadebridge, and it’s a charming little town for wandering around. Outdoorsy guests are pleased by the nature trails, and it’s a good location for exploring North Cornwall.

Decent pub grub and traditional ales.

The pub and restaurant is a popular dining spot in the town, and guests praise the satisfying pub meals on offer, as well as the local cask ales. If you like a good sing-song, you’re in luck: the pub also hosts live music nights.

Adequate rooms with comfy beds.

They might not be super-luxurious, but the rooms are reasonably priced and provide a comfy night’s sleep. Most guests give the beds the thumbs up, and rooms are suitably spacious.

Negative Reviews

No parking in the vicinity.

The trade-off for such a central location is a distinct lack of parking – if you come by car, you’ll be leaving it some distance from the hotel, so it’s something to factor into your plans.

Staff don’t always seem prepared.

There’s only a small staff at The Swan Hotel, dealing with both the pub and hotel, so the service is not always up to scratch, and definitely not 24-hour. However, guests generally find that the staff are friendly.

Tired décor in need of refurbishment.

While the rooms are comfortable enough, they’re in need of a bit of sprucing up. Guests have complained that carpets are a bit stained and worn, and the bathrooms could do with an upgrade.
