Positive Reviews

Close To Everything.

Unless you slept on the steps of the cathedral, you couldn’t find a more central spot in Truro. Guests found Manning’s a perfect base for exploring the city and surrounding areas. They enjoyed the nearby shops and restaurants and many said they would return to Manning’s for the location alone.

Character and Charm.

With it’s modern and stylish accommodations and historic Georgian archtecture, Manning's is a perfect combination of old and new. Guests described the building as charming and full of character and found the rooms clean and comfortable. The complimentary drink upon arrival was a welcome touch.

Bring the Kids.

Guests staying in the apartments appreciated the well equipped kitchens with everything needed to make meals. Those with children found this particularly convenient. Guests also praised Annie, the breakfast manager, for her friendliness with youngsters

Negative Reviews

How Many More Stairs?.

Manning’s is Grade II listed historic building and does not have a lift. Some guests with rooms on the third floor found the steps a bit difficult to manage and warned that the elderly and those with small children should ask for rooms on the lower floors. Guests also complained about warm and stuffy rooms and the lack of air conditioning.

Garrulous Gulls.

Guests at Mannings were not enamoured of the gulls and complained that the noise from fighting, sqawking birds kept them awake at night. Obnoxious bird behaviour wasn’t confined to nightime either. Loud and unusually persistant gulls dive bombed guests as they were leaving the hotel and generally created a nuisance. The birds weren’t entirely to blame for a less than relaxing stay at Mannings though. Late night revelers, chiming clocks and noisy kitchen extractor fans also kept some guests awake.

Wimpy Wi-Fi.

Some guests complained that the Wi-Fi was poor at best, others said that it didn’t work at all.
