The family run, 4 star rated, Braddon Hall, retains many Victorian features for bed and breakfast breaks in one of Torquay’s quieter and more desirable areas.

The reason why the guest house has received awards for its breakfast becomes totally clear once you have experienced the meal. Beautifully served, lots of choice, superb quality – and all in these very special surroundings.

Parking? ‘Inclined’ not to risk it.

The drive is frighteningly steep and destined to deter all but the most daring of drivers. There’s no pot of gold at the end of the adventure, either; there’s only space for 2 cars!

A hill too far?.

It’s very hilly with lots of steps. This will, of course, never alter – but access is certainly not ideal for disabled, infirm or elderly guests. There are disabled facilities inside though.

A little bit tired.

And it’s not due to the climb to get there! … ‘Some’ of the aspects of the rooms need updating and appear a bit dreary. There is obviously an ongoing programme of improvements but a guest ‘snapshot’ will currently see the ‘tiredness’ in some areas as a bi
