Positive Reviews

Tranquil countryside setting.

The hotel is surrounded by extensive grounds including a duck pond and has views over the North Yorkshire Moors providing a very scenic and peaceful backdrop. Many guests stayed here with their dogs and took advantage of the numerous walks and nature trails nearby. If you are a nature lover you will be pleased to know that there is an abundance of wildlife and lots of colourful plants and flowers.

Elegant and well-equipped rooms.

Many guests were complimentary about their rooms describing them as tastefully decorated and equipped with all the mod-cons including sound systems, fridges and safes. The furniture was said to be of high quality as well as the upholstery and guests also appreciated the little extras such as fresh milk and biscuits which added to the enjoyment of their stay.

Quality food and lots of choice.

The food at both the on-site restaurants was described as very tasty and beautifully presented whilst guests also complimented the range of dishes on offer which seemed to cater for various tastes and dietary requirements.

Negative Reviews

Not enough staff.

Guests complained about having to wait a long time during breakfast in order to place their orders and also for their meals to arrive. Many also objected to the bar being unmanned during various times of the day as guests had to go in search of staff in order to order their drinks.

Limited Wi-Fi access.

Quite a few guests were disappointed to find that they couldn’t connect to the internet from their rooms and had to walk around the hotel in order to see where they could pick up a better signal.

Housekeeping issues.

Dust and cobwebs as well as unhoovered carpets were just some of the criticism voiced by guests who found the level of cleanliness rather lacking.
