Positive Reviews

Owners know the area.

The owners are excellent hosts and are very knowledgeable about the local area. They are able to provide information on local attractions and can even recommend the best places to eat out, whilst providing money off vouchers for some places.

Close to Peasholm Park.

Peasholm Park is just around the corner with its beautiful gardens, cafe and boating lake. It is approximately a 15-minute walk to Scarborough’s shopping areas and there are lots of other things to see and do in Scarborough and the surrounding area.

Happy with the facilities.

The rooms are comfortable and are cleaned to a high standard. In winter the heating is effecting and the rooms are kept warm and toasty. There is a kitchen and dining room for guests to use if they do not wish to eat out, and a television lounge.

Negative Reviews

No food served.

The lodge doesn’t serve any food at all so you will either have to eat out or use the facilities to cook for yourself.

Rooms are on the small side.

Some of the rooms are quite small with the bathrooms in particular tiny which can make showering quite a challenge and there isn’t a lot of space for your toiletries. Taller guests may also struggle if they are placed in a room with a bunk bed as although they are comfortable it is a very tight squeeze.

Towels didn’t smell very fresh.

Reviews from previous guests have mentioned that the towels didn’t smell very fresh and they weren’t as soft as they could be, but there have been reports from the owner that all towels are going to be replaced.
