The self catering, Internacional II, is an aparthotel on Spain’s Costa Dorada (Daurada) and just 550 yards from the beach in Salou.

Balconied studio apartments here incorporate flat screen colour television, sofa bed and dining area. Also included are air conditioning, a well equipped kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. Wi-Fi is an optional additional item.

Additional features at the Internacional II include 24 hour reception and car hire, a games room with billiards and day and night entertainment.There is also an attractive swimming pool with children’s section. Airport transfers can be arranged.

Refreshments are available from the poolside bar, snack bar and restaurant. There are numerous additional bars and shops nearby and for self caterers, Aldi is a brief car drive away at Raval de la Mar.

The vibrant centre of Salou is a 250m short walk and the airport is a 10 km drive.

A round of applause for the entertainers.

They work really hard to entertain children and adults throughout the day and at night. Kids’ boredom isn’t really a factor here.

Lots of foody options.

Nice breakfast selection and the later dining menu is good too … if you’re not self catering. Sinatra’s, next door, also does a mean breakfast and the bars, shops and restaurants of Salou are only a few hundred metres away. Les Barques is one of the closer restaurants, but there are plenty here, including, you’ve guessed it, MacDonald’s!

Tip top location wins the day.

This aparthotel has got lots of eating and drinking outlets to lure you away from the chores of self catering, but there are also plenty of shops around for the strong willed caterer. It is also, only a few hundred yards from the beach and a 10 minute stroll to the centre of Salou. Salou is a favoured place for Barcelona residents, so it’s worth taking a day trip there. Takes about 1.5 hours by road but there are organised tours as well.
