Positive Reviews

Great breakfast

The breakfast here is highly appreciated. There are great choices and it is served hot and fresh in a lovely, wood-panelled breakfast room. The freshly made butterscotch pancakes have been mentioned as having been excellent.

Friendly staff

The staff here is attentive, friendly, helpful and committed to ensuring the comfort of the guests. One of the staff members, Megan, has been mentioned as being particularly helpful. Tony, the chef, has been appreciated for his breakfast and tapas and Javed and Judith have been mentioned as being helpful enough to allow an early Check-in when guests arrived early.

Good location

The location of the guesthouse in the High Street of Rye has been mentioned to be favourable, as it is convenient for the local places of interest for visitors to the town.

Negative Reviews

Outside noise

As it isn't possible for a building of this age to install double glazing, the windows are unable to keep out the noise from outside, which may be a nuisance at night for guests trying to sleep. Also, the building becomes rather chilly in winter because of this very reason, say guests.

Wiring everywhere

Some of the guests find the presence of a large amount of electrical wires in the building to be a nuisance. The building was constructed a long time before electrical sockets were in existence and installing them at this stage is out of the question in a building with heritage status, as it could spoil the character of the building.

Extractor fan required

It has been remarked that an extractor fan would be a useful addition to the bathrooms, which don't have outside windows.
