About Overseas

Situated in an incredibly central location, right besides Rome’s main Termini Station, Overseas Hostel is a small property offering simple budget accommodation with air conditioning.

The 20 rooms have tiled floors to help with the cooling on hot summer days and free Wi-Fi. There are rooms with both private and shared bathroom facilities. Some rooms also have mini-fridges.

Reception staff can assist with providing local information and laundry services.

There are no dining facilities at the hostel, but a couple nearby. Hua Qiao Restaurant is right next door and known for its tasty and authentic Chinese dishes.

The proximity of the Termini Metro Station to Overseas B&B means that much of the city’s best attractions can be accessed easily and quickly. Guests who brought along their walking shoes will find the Trevi Fountain a 30-minute walk from the hostel, while the still impressive ruins of the coliseum are 22-minutes away.

Positive Reviews

Convenient location for Termini Station

Guests found it very convenient to be so close to Termini Station, the city’s main transport hub. They found it useful when arriving by train and also when using the metro system to get around the city.

Rooms were clean

Guests typically reported that their room was adequately cleaned before they checked in and kept neat and tidy through daily housekeeping.

Friendly personnel won praise

Maintenance and cleanliness issues such as aging furniture, interruptions to the hot water supply, dirty bathrooms, stained linens, patches of dust and old TVs disappointed critics in certain rooms.

Negative Reviews

Very dodgy area

While guests liked being near Rome’s main railway station, they described the streets immediately around the hostel as very dodgy. There were said to be many homeless people, much drug dealing, public drunkenness and other signs of general urban decay. Guests typically did not feel safe in the area.

No breakfast

The hostel seems to refer to itself as a B&B online, but guests reported that it was a very peculiar B&B that had no breakfast available at all, not even to be purchased. Guests had to find their own place to have breakfast.

Poor relevant language skills

Guests reported that the owners and staff of the hostel, while quite friendly, not only do not speak English, but do not even speak Italian. This seems to have made for very difficult and frustrating communication.
