About Victoria

Overlooking the majestic beauty of the North Yorkshire Heritage Coast is the Victoria, a purpose-built Victorian hotel nestled on the cliff tops of Robin Hood's Bay. Stunning views, homemade cuisine and spacious accommodations are the hallmarks of this grand, family-run establishment.

The large guest bedrooms are elegantly appointed and feature private bathrooms with hairdryers and complementary toiletries. Egyptian linen, flat-screen TVs and tea/coffee making facilities come as standard.

The hotel has a family/children's room and a terrace/garden area where guests can enjoy the sublime views. Complementary Wi-Fi is accessible throughout and parking is provided free of charge.

The 'Sea View Restaurant' serves cooked breakfasts in the mornings and homemade cuisine in the evenings. During the daytime, the venue is a sea-facing coffee shop and tea room. Real ales can be savoured in the friendly public bar and cliff top beer garden.

Whitby is a 10 minute’ drive from the Victoria.

Positive Reviews

Oh what a view!

The views out to sea and along the coast from here are breathtaking to the point of leaving you unable to speak Quite honestly, looking out across the bay as the sun dips behind the distant sea is enough in itself to justify a visit Absolutely stunning.

Guest bedrooms are very spacious

Being a luxury Victorian-era hotel (it was built in 1897) ensures the guest rooms here are much bigger those proffered in most modern hotels The elegant décor only helps to make the bedrooms feel even more grand!

Homemade cuisine is a real treat

The Victoria's policy of sourcing only the finest local ingredients ensures the homemade cuisine in the 'Sea View Restaurant' is every bit as delectable as the views Top tip: try the 'posh' fish and chips made with local Whitby cod – it's HUGE!

Negative Reviews

Wi-Fi is a little unreliable

While some guest bedrooms and public areas enjoy unfettered wireless Internet access, other parts of the hotel aren't so fortunate Experiencing interruptions/omissions in your Wi-Fi signal just a few metres away from somewhere that has no issues at all is more than a little frustrating.

Some guest bedrooms are a little noisy

Guests staying in bedrooms located directly above the busier public areas on the ground floor (such as the kitchens) often note that the noise generated within them filters up into their accommodation Not a deal breaker by any means, but certainly something to keep in mind.

But that's about it

The truth is, sketchy Wi-Fi signals and some isolated issues with noise aren't enough to spoil your overall holiday mood or take the sheen off a stay at the Victoria.
