Positive Reviews

Top notch breakfast.

It’s fair to say reviewers were bowled over by the tasty breakfast on offer. Guests appreciated the choice of cooked full English or continental options, generally describing the food as plentiful and delicious. Cooked breakfast connoisseurs also liked the inclusion of bacon and sausages from the local butcher.

Wonderful unspoilt views and comfy rooms.

On the whole, reviewers said the rooms were well-appointed, comfortable and cleaned to a good standard. But for many, it was the view across the bay that was the highlight of their stay. With superb panoramic coastal views from most rooms, some guests reported being lucky enough to be able to watch the boats bobbing in the bay during sunrise from the comfort of their bed.

Warm welcome.

Reviewers liked the friendly and helpful staff who offered a warm welcome at this family-run establishment. Many liked the way the service had a personal touch. Several reviewers even dubbed it a little gem.

Negative Reviews

Limited parking.

Public parking in the village can be scarce during peak season, prompting sporadic headaches for motorists who were unlucky enough to miss out on the limited private parking spaces available at Raven House.

Some felt rooms were small.

Occasionally reviewers noted that while more than adequately comfortable for a short stay, some of the rooms felt a bit cramped. This was keenly noticed by those who had lots of luggage with them.

Sea views not guaranteed.

Although most of the rooms did boast a superb sea view, there were also rooms facing the rear of the building which lacked the coveted coastal panoramas.
