Positive Reviews

Comfortable beds in immaculate rooms.

A number of guests describe the beds as extremely comfortable, reportedly made up with good quality bedding. Rooms are described as clean and spacious, generally well-maintained and well-appointed.

Friendly and helpful staff.

The majority of reviews regarding staff are positive, with guests stating that staff are friendly and helpful. Guests attending weddings and wedding receptions at the hotel comment that staff are organised and that the events seem to be well-managed.

Conveniently located.

A large number of reviews are from guests passing by during a long journey. Guests comment that the location is convenient, since the hotel is situated on the A1, and that it is ideal having a hotel of this nature which is so easy to find. There also seem to be views from the back of the hotel across the countryside.

Negative Reviews

Lots of noise from the A1.

Some guests complain of noise from the busy road adjacent to the hotel. However, guests do note that all rooms are triple-glazed, and that when windows are closed, noise is shut out. Some guests comment that windows have to be kept open at night due to the temperature on hot days.

Average, overpriced food.

Reviews concerning food are decidedly mixed, but the majority of guests seem to think that the food served is average, and is expensive for the quality delivered. Dietary requirements seem to be catered for where notice is given, but seem to be poorly catered for with no notice.

In need of redecoration.

A number of guests suggest that the hotel is in need of renovation. The building itself is reportedly beautiful, but guests describe the interior decoration as dated and dingy.
